Arrival and Preparation

Columbus UK’s latest water recycling installation, the new Jaguar Land Rover dealership in Redruth, Cornwall.

In fine Columbus tradition, the Columbus UK Engineering team arrived at the site in the early hours of the morning for the initial installation preparations and equipment set-up, as well as to continue the construction of the water recycling system housing facility, complete with mezzanine flooring.

Below, we see also see one of Columbus UK’s specialist engineers deploying the winch system which will lower the engineering team into the underground wastewater storage pits, ready for phase 2 of the project.

Going Underground!

Once the team were lowered into the pits and were in position, work commenced on the installation of the systems debris filter, which halts the advance of large solids from proceeding into the treatment tank, as well as the installation of the intricate system of water transportation pipes and water booster pump.

And finally, we can see the patented bio-film fibres ready to be deposited into the filtration pit, the purpose of the bio-film fibres is to filter out dense liquids, oils and grease.

Finishing Touches!

Upon the completion and testing of the underground portion of the water recycling system, all efforts are concentrated on the ground level part of the system.

Below, we can see the CPU of the entire system, the control box, which projects information on system functionality onto an LCD, user-friendly screen, such as waste tank capacity & water flow.

The Booster pumps function is to supply the sites pressure washers with recycled, clean water, while this water is not safe for consumption, it will be completely absent of oils, greases and other harmful elements.

Lastly, the clarifiers indicate the final stage of the water recycling process.
